I recently created a new webpage on Celestial University that’s getting a lot of clicks! I wanted to share how and why I created this webpage—in case you’d like to benchmark this idea for your own marketing.
I’m one of those entrepreneurs with a lot of offerings. Books, mentoring programs, merchandise, and a virtual networking organization—these are some of the offerings I market to my ideal clients.
Each offering has its own webpage, and it can be hard to constantly direct people to the individual webpages, especially on Instagram. Additionally, my homepage didn’t effectively point my website visitors to all of my offerings.
That’s why I created one webpage that does it all! Keep reading to learn about my “hello/start here” webpage that’s doing a great job attracting my ideal clients.
As a frequent social media marketer, I am often directing people to a webpage to learn more about something. My calls to action were looking like this:
- To learn more about my books, head over to https://jillceleste.com.
- To learn more about Virtual Networkers, go to https://virtualnetworkers.biz.
- To read my latest blog post, visit https://celestialuniversity.com/blog.
This was becoming tricky was on Instagram, though, which only allows one URL in the account bio. To keep up with what I was posting, I was switching out the URLs several times a week. And, because I schedule my Instagram posts, I often forgot to switch out the URL, despite the call to action saying “link in bio.” Yikes!
It was also getting tricky for networking. I exclusively network through Virtual Networkers, and in the chat box, I like to drop a link as a call to action. I also like to include a URL in my 30-second introduction. Constantly figuring out what webpage to highlight was getting confusing, not only for me, but for my networking peers.
In the past, I had used Linktree—a “link in bio” tool where you can list all your URLs. I was tempted to set it up again (it is a handy tool!), but I thought: Why am I sending social media users to a non-Celestial University webpage? Why not just have a “hello” webpage on Celestial University that does the same thing?
A hard look at my homepage
As I thought about where to place my new “hello” webpage, I took at hard look at Celestial University’s homepage. I realized that, from my homepage, I was only pointing to one class—my Get More Clients course.
But I offer more than one course! This led me to this question: How can I easily direct my homepage visitors to a complete list of what I offer?
I thought about the “hello” webpage I wanted to create for social media and networking, and I concluded: Why not Ieverage my “hello” webpage to help direct homepage visitors to all of my offerings?
Yes! Two for one!
My new Start Here/Hello webpage that’s getting lots of clicks
Now that I had a plan, here’s how I executed it.
From the homepage of Celestial University, I created a “Start Here” webpage, which is the same webpage I point to from the URL I placed in my social media bios and 30-second introduction (https://celestialuniversity.com/hello).
I kept the Start Here/Hello page very simple—a serious of square images with the titles of each offering.
Someone clicks on the graphic, and it directs her to that offering, even if it’s off Celestial University’s website.
Admittedly, it’s more functional than pretty, but let me tell you: It gets the job done:
- I added https://celestialuniversity.com/hello to all of my social bios.
- I also include the same URL in my official bio and 30-second intro.
- I now direct my networking peers to this webpage through the Virtual Networkers chat box.
- As a result, people are clicking: My Google Analytics show this webpage gets new clicks every day!
In the future, I will add a video to this webpage to make it more personalized and welcoming. But, for now, I took imperfect action, and I am so glad I did!
Now, I toss it to you: Do you have one webpage on your website that lists all of your offerings, programs, and services? If not, would adding one make it easier for your ideal clients and you? If yes, put it on your to-do list or outsource this task to your VA. You too might get a lot of clicks with one centralized Start Here/Hello webpage!
